Ontano Lounge is right in the heart of Northallerton, in good company on the High Street between Cooplands Bakery and Betty’s Tea Rooms. Behind our huge floor to ceiling front windows, we’re a place of, er, three halves. There’s a rather grand airy high-ceilinged and chandelier-ed area at the front, then some cosier corners further in, leading to a lovely big outdoor terrace at the back – a space to suit whatever mood. And why the name? Ontano is Italian for Alder, the trees here supposedly the basis for Northallerton’s name. Tree-mendous.
Interesting fact: Within half an hour drive, you’ve a choice of two National Parks – North York Moors and the Yorkshire Dales. Perfect for walking off a Big Lounge Breakfast.
